Lighting cuts energy use at Mövenpick Hotel Doha

Green giant: Mövenpick Hotel Doha achieves Green Globe status for the fourth year running

Low-energy lighting and controls have helped the Mövenpick Hotel Doha achieve Green Globe environmental certification for the fourth year running. The hotel achieved an outstanding score of 85% against accredited criteria.

The property strives to gain greater efficiencies while providing a comfortable environment and facilities for its guests. Mövenpick Hotel Doha uses the Hotel Optimizer management system designed by Green Globe’s preferred Middle East partner Farnek to record and monitor all energy and water consumption. Energy-efficient lighting, motion sensors and timers are installed throughout the property. And power saving appliances and equipment are utilised in guest rooms and in offices.

Marcus Dudley, general manager of Mövenpick Hotel Doha said: “We constantly strive to run our business responsibly. We are proud to carry the certification for another year as proof of our environmental consciousness. Our hotel is committing today, to do the right thing for tomorrow.”

Green cards and in-house Mövenpick channel presentations encourage guests to participate in green initiatives.
