Judges named for Lux Awards Middle East

The first tranche of judges for the inaugural Lux Awards Middle East 2016 have been named. The panel of experts features some of the region’s most senior independent lighting designers, consultant engineers and government officials. 

In the product section, the judges include Martin Valentine, lighting expert at the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City; Sally Storey, design director at Lighting Design International; Paul Miles, principal lighting designer and partner at Light Touch; Regina Santos, independent lighting design consultant; Simon Miller, product conformity specialist at Abu Dhabi Quality & Conformity Council; David Dunn, technical manager for utilities at Mouchel Consulting;  Shaun O’Mahoney, technical director at Black & White Engineering; and Patricia Lopez-Yanez, associate at Delta Lighting.

In the project section, judges include Faraz Izhar, senior lighting designer at KEO Design Division; Rodrigo Roveratti, senior lighting designer and architect at Delta Lighting; Harmeet Singh, design director at Design Matrix; Ammar Habib Mohamed, senior lighting engineer at the Sultanate of Oman Royal Court Affairs Royal Estates; and Tamara Withers, corporate sustainability manager at the Emirates Wildlife Society in association with the WWF. More judges for the project category are set to be announced next week.

The Lux Awards Middle East are designed to celebrate and reward excellence in lighting in the region, and the awards ceremony takes place alongside LuxLive Middle East on 14 April 2016, the second day of the show.
