PHILIPS OEM has unveiled generation three of its established TrustSight LED emergency conversion kits.
The new range includes a lithium ion phosphate (LiFePO 4) battery version which delivers longer life, higher maximum temperatures and an extended warranty. A Dali version is also available as part of the series.
‘This is a significant project for us’, said Peter Earle of Philips OEM. ‘More than two years of development have gone into this launch of generation three of the TrustSight portfolio.
Speaking at the product launch at the LuxLive exhibition in London, he said: ’There are some market leading features in this product range. We’ve incorporated an NFC [near field communication] chip. So this is not just configurable but also programmable. So lighting manufacturers can programme certain parameters of this converter to their specification.
‘The key elements we had in mind while designing this portfolio were safety, reliability and compliance.
The benefit to end clients is that they can know and have the peace of mind and the comfort that the system complies and they’re safe.
‘And hopefully hopefully never has to be used but if it does it may save a life’.
The TrustSight Gen3 portfolio, which will carry CE, ENEC and Kitemark approvals, also includes high and low voltage variants in manual test, self-test and Dali options.
Extending the emergency load forward voltage to 300V allows manufacturers significant flexibility in luminaire design, for instance in high bay and industrial applications.
By combining Philips TrustSight Gen3 DALI with the company’s Xitanium SR drivers and sensors, the driver can be part of a connected ecosystem for controlling, monitoring, testing and reporting remotely.
The design is compatible with Philips Fortimo, Philips CertaFlux and a wide range of third party modules and drivers.
Philips TrustSight Gen3 driver has a 70,000 hour life and comes with a five year warranty.
The driver is compatible with both NiMH and lithium batteries which offers manufacturers even more flexibility for design-in. It’s designed with two mounting options within one product to increase the design options, without adding complexity to customers’ supply chain.
As with the Xitanium SR drivers, the TrustSight Gen3 Dali can be configured using SimpleSet which allows luminaire manufacturers to programme drivers at any stage during the manufacturing process using near-field communication, without a connection to mains power, offering a range of settings. As a result they can meet orders faster, while reducing costs and inventory.
