WHAT’S BEING claimed to the world’s first dim-to-warm LED filament lamp has been unveiled by UK firm Well-lit.
The company says its patented flexible LED filament can smoothly transition the colour temperature from 2800K at its brightest to an ultra warm 2000K to mimic the behaviour of traditional incandescent lamps.
Primarily aimed at hospitality settings, the new light source will allow for a change in colour temperature, and therefore ambience and scene, simply by dimming.
As the first company in the world to bring flexible LED filament bulbs to the market, back in 2016, innovation and the launch of new technology to the lighting industry is part of Well-lit’s offering.
Speaking at the launch, Well-lit director Chris Stimson told Lux: ‘We’ve been working on the development of a dim to warm LED filament bulb for several years now, so we are delighted to be able to bring our finished solution to market.
‘Previous prototypes created shadowing, but we overcame to develop our final product which is highly impressive’.
Available in a range of shapes, the dim to warm flexible filament bulbs is rated at 8W and an upper limit output of 400 lumens.
With a fitting of E27, the new products offer a 15,000 hour lifespan and CRI of 90.
Well-lit filament lamps have already been supplied to big name food and beverage brands including Nando’s, Dishoom and Honest Burgers.
