Kelvin Lighting is acquired by Atrium

Scott Kelly, managing director of Kelvin Lighting, and Ulysse Dormoy, managing director of Atrium, have teamed up to create the UK’s largest specialist lighting distributor

SCOTLAND’S leading specialist lighting distributor Kelvin Lighting has been bought by England’s largest lighting distributor, Atrium.

Atrium’s extensive showroom in Old Street, London, features many of the company’s iconic brands

Together, the expanded group will represent the single largest independent specialist lighting distributor in the UK.

Founded by Scott Kelly in 2007, Kelvin Lighting will operate as a trading division of Atrium and will continue to be known as Kelvin Lighting in Scotland.

Kelvin Lighting’s customers will now have direct access to Atrium’s portfolio of top lighting brands and will continue to receive local technical support and expertise.  They will also benefit from Atrium’s UK-based QuickShip programme that provides for the most commonly specified lighting products and accessories to be available for immediate delivery to a nominated destination from its warehouse in Park Royal, London.

Ulysse Dormoy, managing director of Atrium said: ‘This is a very exciting time for us in a market sector that’s constantly evolving through technological innovation.

‘Scott and I have complementary views on the way forward and we’re both very much looking forward to this next phase of growth for our combined businesses.

‘We’re very fortunate to have great teams of people working with us and to be working with the world’s leading lighting brands‘.

Scott Kelly, who will now join the board of Atrium as a shareholder and director, said:  ‘It will be business as usual for our customers in Scotland but with the additional offer of iconic architectural lighting brands’.

The companies supply architects, lighting designers, interior designers, engineers and contractors with lighting products.
