Louis Poulsen will reveal Christian Flindt’s beautiful new outdoor lighting design, the LP Xperi.

WE MARK your card for a visit to the blockbusting global exhibition that is Light + Building in Frankfurt.  We’ve come up with our 10 top picks of innovations to check out while chowing down on a bratwurst.

1 Blade R

iGuzzini will showcase the Blade R,  a compact and miniaturised ring of light with a high level of visual comfort and a central core that can host a range of different devices, including loudspeakers, smoke detectors, emergency lights, video cameras and BLE multi-sensors. Blade R can also be controlled by smartphone using BLE protocol, use smart service activation through a beacon and be integrated with other iGuzzini luminaires, including Easy Tunable White, Palco Framer and Laser.

2 Xperi

Stand D31 Hall 3.1

Louis Poulsen will reveal Christian Flindt’s beautiful new outdoor lighting design, the LP Xperi. The post top in¬corporates a ribbed reflector construction, with the ribs serving as reflectors that are gentle on the eyes – yet directly illuminate the space beneath them with centrally positioned LEDs. The open, geometric format is designed to captures the sun’s rays and filtersthem through the luminaire – while also offering an ever-changing view of the sky through the ribs.

3 Frame
Stand E21, Hall 4.0

Frame is a signature exterior seating-bollard with numerous options for finishes and lighting. It combines a bollard luminaire and seat into one piece of contemporary urban lighting furniture. The design of the fixture is said to reference the letter ‘i’ in the Ligman logo, so in profile has a delicately canted stance with a ‘cut’ which houses a directional asymmetric downlight and additional concealed 360-degree glowing base to make the fixture appear to float on the ground.

4 Intono
Stand D25 Hall 3.1

Taking pride of place on the Luce&Light stand will be Intono, the chameleon-like wall-mounted fixture whose concept was acclaimed at Milan Design Week. It’s available in four sizes and has versions with single or double beams; it features a slender, elegant cylindrical body connected to the wall by a double curve, and is available in standard finishes of white, grey, cor-ten, anthracite – and with a primer version prepared for painting on site.

5 PTM switch module with NFC
Stand G69 Hall 8.0

EnOcean is set to unveil a solar-powered multisensor family with Near Field Communication functionality. Dubbed the STM 550 range, it integrates temperature, humidity, lighting, acceleration and magnetic contact sensors in a small case. The sensor all-rounder thus supplies data via Bluetooth and the EnOcean radio standard for a wide range of battery-free applications in digitised buildings and the IoT.
